1. What is the Viri Experience?

The Viri Experience will engage your senses through an 80 minute virtual reality immersion with your friends. The experience includes The Plank, Archery, and 60 minutes of a Private Booth shared with your group!

Car Racing

Burn the virtual rubber in Car Racing! Seperate to The Viri Experience at $20 per person, get up to speeds up 300km/hr in Virtual Reality and try not to spin out. Feel every bump and race your mates for victory! Supporting up to 4 player multiplayer, you’ll love racing and want to come back and try again!

2. What types of games do you have?

We have a range of games including sports, shooters, dance and arcade. Given the dynamic nature of virtual reality, our games list changes often, so come in and find out what we have right now.

3. How much does it cost to play?

Viri costs $35 per person for a 80 minute VR experience including The Plank, Archery, and 60 minutes in a private booth. Viri only costs $28 per person Tuesday – Thursday before 5PM.

Car Racing

$20 Per Person for a 15 – 20 minutes race.

4. Do I need to book? Can I just walk in?

Booking is preferred because it guarantees the time that you want will be available, and allows us to allocate staff to accommodate your booking so you’re not waiting around. Game sessions start every 30 minutes.

If you’re just looking to do car racing, you can walk in and wait for the next available slot.

5. What do I need to bring with me?

It’s better to wear light clothes if possible as some games make you move around and are very active.

6. I think I might get nausea, can I play?

Yes, you can still play. If you get motion sickness easily, it’s advisable to take some motion sickness tablets before playing, or some ginger or other herbal remedy. If you experience nausea in the first 5-10 minutes after trying VR, let our game master know and they will be able to provide a solution for you.

7. Is Viri family friendly?

Yes, definitely. Families make up a significant portion of our customer base, and kids love playing virtual reality. Some of our experiences may not be suitable for kids, but we have tagged them and our game masters can advise you on the best games when you arrive. If you’re just supervising kids, and not playing virtual reality, you may attend free of charge and don’t need to buy yourself a ticket.

8. Can I book out your shop for my event?

Yes, you can book out part or all of the shop for your corporate event, birthday party or other event. Please put in an inquiry via our Contact Page and we will get in touch with you!

9. Where is your shop?

Viri is at 555 Flinders Lane, Melbourne CBD. We are a four minute walk from Southern Cross Station on the corner of Flinders Lane and Downie Street. (Close to Spencer Street).

10. Is there parking close by?

There is a paid multi story car park across the road open until 10PM. There is limited paid street parking available until 8.30PM daily.

11. What makes Viri different from other VR centres?

Viri is a virtual reality entertainment centre.

Viri is different because first and foremost we focus on immersive virtual reality experiences. This means that you feel the wind in your face on the plank, or the jolt as you nudge your mate in car racing. We’re currently looking to offer new experiences including horror, roller coasters, flight simulators, and more.

We’ve also invested heavily into our fit-out and environment, so you’ll enjoy chilling out with your friends.

12. Do you have refreshments for purchase?

Yes, we have water and soft drinks for purchase.

13. What can I expect when I play VR?

You’ll be transported to another world. Put simply, there is nothing quite like virtual reality. You will feel immersed in all your senses and have a little bit of a hard time coming back to normal reality! That being said, VR is a lot of fun, and you’ll be telling your friends and family for days about it afterwards!

14. Do you run events?

Yes, we run various games tournaments throughout the year that are announced through our Facebook page and email list. These include car racing tournaments, multiplayer tournaments and special discount days. Follow us on social media and subscribe to our Viri Insiders Club to be notified of these.

15. What are your opening hours?

10am – 10pm: Tuesday to Sunday
Closed Mondays

16. Can I book by phone?

Yes, you can call us and book by phone during business hours.

17. How long do games take?

The Viri experience takes approximately 80 minutes including The Plank, Archery and Free Play.

Racing takes 15-20 minutes and is an additional $15 if you’re already doing our Viri Experience.

18. Do I need to sign a waiver?

Yes, due to public liability insurance requirements, all players must sign a waiver before commencing any games at Viri. You’ll be provided our simple one page Waiver form to review by the game master when arriving.

19. How early should our group arrive?

Please arrive ten minutes before your booked starting time so you can be briefed by our team and maximise your virtual reality time.

20. Do you have multiplayer games?

Yes, we have some multiplayer games available. However these games are more complex to master, and hence better for experienced players or gaming tournaments that Viri hosts. First timers are suggested to stick to the Viri recommended list of games.

21. Do you sell alcohol?

Not at this time.

22. Do you have memberships?

Not at this time, but we plan to shortly in the future.

23. What is your rescheduling, cancellation and refund policy?

Reschedule

If you need to reschedule, you can do so via our booking system through a link received in your booking confirmation email. You can also call us during business hours. You must reschedule at least 24 hours before your booking.

Cancellation

You may cancel with at least 24 hours notice. You must contact us by phone to cancel. Any cancellations within 24 hours of your booking will be considered a no show, and you will not be refunded.

Refunds

Refunds, cancellations or reschedules are not permitted 24 hours prior to when the game is booked. Refunds, cancellations or reschedules requested 24 hours prior to your booking will be provided at the sole discretion of the owners and staff of VIRI VR.

If less people attend the game than are booked, the price difference will not be reimbursed, unless otherwise agreed by VIRI VR.

If more people attend the game than are booked the extra can be paid by cash/credit card upon arrival at the game. However availability will not be guaranteed for the additional participants.

Game Masters reserve the right to provide a refund if you feel unwell and otherwise cannot complete your experience.

24. If I’m short sighted or long sighted, do I have to wear my glasses or contact lenses?

Contact lenses are highly recommended if you wear glasses, as glasses can be difficult to fit in the headset.

25. Is there an age restriction?

Minimum age: 6
6 years – 18 years: Must be accompanied by parent or guardian

26. Can I play if I have epilepsy or other conditions, or if I’m pregnant or am elderly?

If you are diagnosed with epilepsy, you should not play virtual reality as some of the animations may trigger symptoms.

If you have a diagnosed heart condition, we suggest you obtain medical advice before playing virtual reality as some games can be strenuous.

We recommend that pregnant women and elderly customers take care when playing virtual reality as you may need to move around. Our staff will be able to recommend suitable games.
